Last month, the Virtual Instruments team made our way to sunny San Diego for one of the biggest shows of the year, HitachiNEXT 2018. We had an extremely constructive time meeting with partners and customers, offering live demos of our products, and discussing how enterprise IT teams can build the foundation for their digital future.
HitachiNEXT is the largest annual event for Hitachi Vantara (formerly Hitachi Data Systems) users, and the key theme of the conference is to share the best ideas to store, protect, enrich, activate and monetize data. Attendees found both the VirtualWisdom and the WorkloadWisdom platforms to be directly relevant to their performance and availability assurance strategies, and were also able to learn about our new Cloud Migration Readiness (CMR) service. Launched this summer, the CMR service helps companies more intelligently migrate workloads to the most optimal public cloud service provider.
While at the event, our live demos gave attendees the opportunity to see first-hand how app-centric infrastructure performance management solutions can benefit their IT organizations. With Hitachi Vantara offering newer, faster arrays, we were able to help Hitachi show their customers how the storage systems will perform using their customers’ real-life production workloads. We can also support their partners and customers with their cloud migration initatives using our CMR offering – and not surprisingly, the cloud was one of the big focuses of this year’s event.
Organizations are also finding that their storage performance validation and testing practices rely on an inadequate combination of DIY testing, vendor claims and guesswork, resulting in significant storage infrastructure over-provisioning and unnecessary production risk. Our live demos of VirtualWisdom and WorkloadWisdom illustrated how enterprises could overcome these challenges by providing a scalable high-performance platform for storage workload modeling, testing, validation and performance analysis from production-to-the-lab.
HitachiNEXT always offers a great opportunity for us to introduce our technology to a wide audience, but it’s also a perfect place for us to re-engage with our current partners and customers. As always, we were thrilled to offer live demos and see people leave with smiles on their faces. And in addition to the attendees who stopped by our booth, we received positive and invaluable feedback through one-on-one meetings with our senior technical and product leadership team. We also had a few winners for our annual HitachiNEXT giveaway – always a crowd pleaser!
If you weren’t able to attend the event, or didn’t make it to our booth, you can still request a personal demo of all of our industry-leading infrastrcuture solutions. Drop us a line and we’ll be in touch!
